The majority of my Facebook friends are on the East coast, so I’m feeling a little left out right now. Everyone seems to be having fun preparing for Hurricane Sandy, even though the storm will likely cause billions in damage and cost some people their lives. Hurricanes and blizzards tend to generally more enjoyable than things like earthquakes, tornadoes, and riots. It all has to do with predictability and control. When you know a storm is coming a few days ahead of time, it’s pretty easy to prepare. But in reality we should all be prepared for emergency situations whether they’re expected or not. There may be a time when running to the store won’t be an option, and that’s why Emergency Essentials exists.
